The ethylenebisdithiocarbamates (EBDC's), which were introduced in the early 1940's, represent the most important class of general purpose, broad spectrum fungicides currently used for the control of mildew, scabs, rusts and blights on fruits, vegetables, potatoes, cotton and, to some extent, on grains.
